![]() THE CLASSIC LONGBOW The Classic LongbowAvailable in two styles, the straight limbed flatbow and the reflexed Longbow. As a weapon the flatbow is a study in simplicity. Long straight limbs and a simple riser bend to a graceful D shape when braced. Unchanged in thousands of years, it can be a hard bow to master. Also known as an American longbow, or a straight limbed longbow, it remains a favorite of traditionalists. The reflexed style is similar in simplicity of form to the flatbow except that the limbs are reflexed slightly away from the shooter. This adds power to the bow without increasing limb mass. It can also be a hard bow to master because of it's recoil.
THREE SHILLING LONGBOW The Three Shilling Longbow (3sLB)Our reflex/deflex style features a shallow curve in the limbs. This smoothes out the draw, takes away some of the "kick" or handshock on release, and adds a degree of arrow speed, while maintaining the power of a longbow and the ability to shoot heavy arrows efficiently. It combines the simplicity of form and function as the Classic styles, with a smooth draw and quiet, powerful action. Three Shillings and four pence was generally the price of a quality military issue longbow in the 1300 and 1400's. A time when the longbow dominated the battlefields of medieval Europe.
MARK ONE LONGBOW The Mark One Longbow (Mk 1)Built with the performance oriented longbow shooter in mind the Mk 1 features limbs shaped in a deeply curved reflex/deflex. Carbon fiber and bamboo limb construction and a compact riser result in a very fast, flat cast. With a total weight of just over one pound it is a joy to carry in the field or on the range. A very efficient, low braced bow, it delivers a light or heavy arrow quietly and with authority.
OUR BOWS Final touches and accessoriesEach bow comes complete with the following:
All of the bows are tillered for split finger shooters. Please specify if you would like an even tiller for a "three fingers under" draw. Your bow will have been strung. The string stretched, served and loosely nocked. The bow will have been test shot on our range several times, however it will not have been seriously tuned as each shooter is unique. |
